If any of you wish to participate in this year's finish-a-thon and DO NOT have a Dreamwidth login, can you PLEASE attempt to fill in this poll on the Dreamwidth community, and post here to say whether you were able to do so? I need to know whether it is possible for someone using OpenID can fill in a poll or not, or whether a Dreamwidth login is required.

Hello everyone!

I'm thinking of opening this year's sign-ups for the finish-a-thon about mid-March, which is a little earlier than last year.

I'm also wondering if I should change the format of the polls. I don't think anyone chose "participants only" last year, and it would probably be simpler if everyone had the same format of poll, that is the "all interested parties" version. I put it to y'all with a poll. 8-)

The poll is on Dreamwidth here: http://multific.dreamwidth.org/44692.html

Given the recent mess of LJ's Release 88, and the fact that Dreamwidth has enabled community imports, I am moving multific to Dreamwidth. The new URL is http://multific.dreamwidth.org/ (same name, basically).

I have already imported everything there. All the posts and comments that were imported use people's OpenId identities. That is, for example, stuff that I've posted here as [info]kerravonsen will appear as "kerravonsen.livejournal.com" over there. YOU DO NOT HAVE TO GET A DREAMWIDTH ACCOUNT to participate there. The import has created "OpenID accounts" on Dreamwidth automatically. All you have to do is go to that account (user = yourname.livejournal.com) and confirm that you're you by giving an email address (which then you have to confirm via the email they will send you). Once your OpenID account is confirmed, you will be able to participate in the multific comm there as you did before. OpenID accounts don't have journals of their own, but they can freely comment in other people's journals, which would include commenting in multific, which is what you did here in the first place!
Mind you, if you do already have a Dreamwidth account, then of course I invite you to join the comm there using your Dreamwidth ID instead.

Yes, I do plan to run the finish-a-thon again next year. I'm not sure exactly when, but I will do it.

The AO3 collection for the 2011 Finish-a-thon is now up. Sorry for the delay.

I've also decided not to try to run a Lyric Wheel this year; it's already far past when I said I would do it, and I just don't have the energy. (sigh)
Maybe next year. Maybe not.

Stories are now due!

If you have finished
Make a comment here, saying "finished", and the URL where the story is.

If you have a partially complete story
Make a comment here, saying "partial", and the URL where the partial story or 1000-word extract is.

If you have nothing to post
Make a comment here, saying "tried", and some explanation as to why you did not succeed.

I am using the awesome power of the finish-a-thon wiki to present the story-finished results in a neat manner, in the Author Status Page. This page will be updated periodically as the information comes in.
